Christmas can be a nightmare for many household budgets, but for one Sydney mum, the season will be particularly merry this year.
Susan’s OnlyFans side hustle has turned the usual financial pain of December into an opportunity for extra joy.
It’s a closely held secret known only to her husband and a few of her closest friends, but it has left the family in a position to splash some Christmas cash they wouldn’t normally have.
“Extra pocket money”
“OnlyFans gives us a bit of pocket money to help cover the kids’ swimming lessons… and getting the swimming lessons covered gives us extra room to spend at Christmas,” she says exclusively. Kidspot.
After starting the account in January, the mother of two is heading into the holiday season feeling more comfortable than ever.Â
She and her husband jokingly refer to the extra income as “pocket money.”
“Having an extra source of income gives us a little extra cash to splurge on. Usually we feel the peak a little bit more this time of year, but this year I don’t feel as stretched.”
It also means some exciting firsts – hosting the family for Christmas lunch.Â
“Before this year, we didn’t think we could afford to host Christmas for our extended families. OnlyFans has given us the opportunity to share the day with our family in our home.”
“I found friends”
Beyond the income, the gig has been fantastic for her personal growth.
“OnlyFans has helped me cope with loneliness, given me extra income, found friends and given me a lot more confidence in myself and my sexuality,” says Susan.
She believes it’s a great option for moms who want to brag without sacrificing too much.
“I strongly recommend it to women who are curious,” she says.
“I feel very first”
As for the negativity – Susan is aware that it’s a profession that other parents may disagree with.
“Obviously there’s a lot of judgment around this type of work,” she says.
She recently commented on a post about OnlyFans in a local Facebook group, anonymously revealing that she creates explicit adult content.
“I am shocked that nowadays I see so many negative comments about the creators of OnlyFans or other forms of sex work.
“The Facebook post proved that, with other mums likening it to ‘selling your soul’ for example,” she said.
While her X-rated work remains a secret from her children, Susan is able to give them the Christmas she knows they deserve.
“I found a community that doesn’t judge me for loving sex and loving myself. I can choose not to show my face, but I feel very seen,” she says.
Susan has asked that we keep her real name and identity anonymous.
