Austrian dad fools around with his runaway car and 18-month-old in viral video

The notion that men struggle to focus on more than one thing at a time is widely accepted and scientifically proven.

But a father in Western Australia has given literal meaning to the ideology that his gender can’t do much for its money in funny – and slightly unnerving – CCTV footage.

Arron Nash shared a video of the incident, which happened on what is believed to be his front lawn, on Facebook Thursday night.

In the video, Nash can be seen doing the push mowing, with his 18-month-old son by his side in a toy car.

However, things take a dramatic turn when his young son starts rolling off the driveway into the street.

Nash runs across the lawn, abandoning the mower to get to his son – only for the piece of machinery to start moving towards them on its own.

Leaving his child in his toy car in the driveway, Nash runs back across the lawn to catch the mower.

What really pushes the clip to Australia’s funniest home videos territory, however, is that the toy car begins to roll again, forcing the man to jump back across the lawn with one hand on the mower and the other on his child.

“Dad mode activated,” he captioned the video, which has been viewed 38,000 times in less than 24 hours.

“Hayden leaves at 18 months.”

Needless to say, the reaction to Nash’s understanding of the situation was one of fear.

“Dude!! This is classic,” one person commented, while another congratulated him on the “good catch”.

“OMG my back is killing me laughing at this Arron,” someone else wrote.

“OMG same here,” agreed another person. “But then I didn’t know if the pain was from laughing or from a heart attack. I bet that scared the life out of Arron.”

“This is absolute gold,” commented one.

“Good priorities, although both received the same level of emergency response.”
